In order to evaluate the effectiveness of different brands of ELISA Kits for rabies virus antibodies，so as to guarantee the reliability and objectivity of laboratory test results，85 serum samples were collected from dogs in Beijing City for antibody detection by fluorescent antibody virus neutralization（FAVN）test and six brands of ELISA kits（including those made in China or other countries，and using blocking and indirect assay）. Taking FAVN test results as the standard，the six kits were compared and analyzed through Kappa consistency test，χ2 test and evaluation on their diagnostic efficiency. The results showed that the six kits were different in consistency of test results. Statistically，the results of three kits conformed to that of FAVN（P>0.05），except other three kits（P<0.05）；the sensitivity and coincidence rates for each two kits were about 70%，80% and 90% respectively. It was concluded that different results were received by different commercial kits，which were not related to the brands or types of kits. Therefore，for commercial kits，it was suggested to test their consistency and differences and to evaluate their diagnostic efficiency according to the standard method in practice，and the test results should be considered as the priority factor to select kits，only in this way could the laboratory test results be guaranteed to be accurate and objective.
