In order to recognize the infection status of toxoplasmosis in pets in Changsha City，Hunan Province，the dogs at monitoring stations were sampled to detect antibody against toxoplasmosis by indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent Assay（ELISA）from 2017 to 2018. In 2017 and 2018，a total of 707 and 711 serum samples were respectively collected，the positive rates of antibody were 9.34% and 8.02% respectively，which was slightly lower in 2018；for different districts，the infection rate was higher in Tianxin District，which was above 13%，it trended to decrease in Furong District and Yuelu District，declined fastest from 9.88% to 4.79% in Furong District，and reduced from 10.2% to 6.98% in Yuelu District；the positive rate remained in the range of 7% to 9% in the rest two districts，which was relatively stable. It was found that，by comparing and analyzing different canine breeds，gender and age of dogs and seasons，the infection status of toxoplasmosis in various breeds was also different，the positive rates of Samoyed，Chinese Rural Dog，Schnauzer，Pomeranian and Corgi were relatively higher，all above 10%；the infection was not very relevant to gender，with slight difference（P=0.086，＞0.05），the positive rate of dogs over one year old was obviously higher than that of those less than one year old，with obvious difference（P=0.012，＜0.05）；and the positive rate varied greatly in different seasons（P=0，＜0.05）. It was investigated that toxoplasmosis was prevalent to some extent in urban areas of Changsha City，and trended to decline as a whole；the infection was related to age and season，the older the age was，the higher the positive rate was，and it was more susceptible in winter. Some suggestions were hereby put forward，such as，strengthening management for dogs，popularizing relevant knowledge about breeding and prevention measures for toxoplasmosis to dog keepers，especially in areas with serious infection；regularly testing toxoplasmosis and deworming，and paying attention to dogs with high infection rate and those over one year old，especially in winter. In this paper，the infection status and distributions of toxoplasmosis in pet dogs in urban areas of Changsha City were preliminarily identified，which provided data support for prevention and control of toxoplasmosis in future.
