In order to identify the status of infection with pseudorabies virus(PRV)and vaccine immunization in some scale swine farms in Sichuan Province,1 388 serum samples were collected from 17 farms in five regions(Eastern,Southern,Western,Northern and Central Sichuan)and a seroepidemiological investigation was conducted by ELISA. The results showed that the total positive rates of PRV-gB and PRV-gE antibodies at individual level were 84.51% and 15.63%,respectively;the positive rates of PRV-gB and PRV-gE antibodies at farm level were 100% and 58.82%,respectively. For pigs at different growth stages, the positive rates of PRV-gB antibodies in suckling piglets, nursery piglets, fattening pigs, multiparous sows, breeding boars and reserved pigs were 79.52%,71.98%,77.58%,94.29%,88.33% and 86.27%,respectively,and the positive rates of PRV-gE antibodies were 30.12%、13.74%、21.71%、15.53%、1.67%、10.78%,respectively. It was concluded that the overall immunization against PRV received good effect in Sichuan Province, except some farms where the level of immune antibody was unsatisfied and the infection with wild virus was serious, especially for suckling piglets, fattening pigs and multiparous sows. It was indicated that PRV was still severe in Sichuan, which should be systematically prevented and controlled, and PRV purification should be carried out as scheduled.
