In order to identify the status of infection with avian influenza virus(AIV)in scale poultry farms in Yulin of Guangxi Province in 2020,1 260 throat/cloacal swab samples collected from 42 scale poultry farms in 7 counties(cities, districts)were detected for AIV nucleic acids by fluorescent PCR,and the virus subtypes were identified by dual fluorescent PCR(H5 and H7 subtype)and fluorescent PCR(H9 subtype). The results showed that no positive sample infected with H5 and H7 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza virus(HPAIV)was detected in all the farms;18 positive samples with H9 subtype low pathogenic avian influenza virus(LPAIV)were detected in two chicken farms, and 115 positive samples with other subtypes LPAIV were detected in two chicken farms and four duck farms. It was concluded that the risk of infection with HPAIV in scale farms in the city was lower due to the compulsory vaccination of HPAI(H5+H7)trivalent inactivated vaccines, but the vaccination and monitoring of avian influenza(AI)should be further strengthened to ensure comprehensive prevention and control,so as to reduce the risk of mutation of LPAIV into HPAIV. Some basis was provided for AI prevention and control in Yulin City.
