In order to evaluate the effectiveness of China Field Epidemiology Training Program for Veterinarians（CFETPV），further improve the training framework，and to promote the scientific，standardized and sustainable development of the program，an indicator system was designed with reference to the evaluation method of TEPHINET training project and Krikpatrick model（four levels of learning evaluation）to carry out a questionnaire investigation and interview for executive committee，trainers and leaders of trainees' units，for the purpose of conducting descriptive statistical analysis and paired control analysis. The results showed that the qualified rates of program management and teaching practice of the two-year core training courses were up to 99% or above，the satisfaction rates of trainees to the courses，filed practices，trainers and management were 89%，94%，97% and 97% respectively；more knowledge and skills were learnt by trainees as compared to non trainees，which was of great statistical significance（P＜0.01）；the satisfaction rates to training courses for senior managers，regional training courses，“one-health”joint training courses and training courses for trainers were all above 94%. It was concluded that the CFETPV，with increasing international influence，has been developed in the process from following and paralleling to overtaking by leaps and bounds，which has played an important role in prevention and control of H7N9 influenza，peste des petits ruminants（PPR），African swine fever（ASF），etc.，leading to the emergence of social benefits. Based on which，some suggestions were put forward，including improving operation mechanism of the CFETPV to further promote its localized development，strengthening the integration of resources to further push forward its sustainable development，and accelerating cross-regional and cross-platform cooperation to further increase its efficiency.
