Epidemic hemorrhagic fever(EHD)is listed as a notifiable transboundary animal disease by the OIE. At present,9 serotypes of the pathogen have been found,including 5 prevalent in China with high diversity. In order to select an appropriate detection method in practice,the advantages and disadvantages of various methods were summarized from the aspects of antigen and antibody detection. As it was compared that all the methods were different in economical efficiency,effectiveness,sensitivity,accuracy,accessibility and requirements for operators and instrument environment. Therefore,the most suitable method should be selected according to specific conditions and requirements in practice,and new technologies should be applied in the future to further enrich the methods for detection of EHD.
