In order to evaluate the application prospect of a novel solid-phase competition ELISA(cELISA)kit for detecting the antibody level of foot and mouth disease(FMDV)type A,a total of 336 clinical serum samples(92 cattle samples,92 sheep samples,92 pig samples and 60 cow samples)in Sanming City of Fujian Province were tested. The results showed that the positive rates of serum samples for cattle, sheep, pigs and cows were 13.04%,11.96%,20.65% and 86.67%,respectively,then 40 serum samples(10 for each kind of livestock samples,5 for each negative and positive samples)were selected to verify the above results by the liquid-phase-blocking ELISA(LPB-ELISA)kit. It was concluded that, for 20 positive samples by cELISA,19 were positive as detected by LPB-ELISA;for 20 negative samples by cELISA,17 were negative by LPB-ELISA;and the κ value of the two kits was 0.8,with a total compliance rate of 90.00%,which indicated that the coincidence rate and consistency of the two kits were relatively high, and the cELISA kit for FMDV type A could be used in epidemiological investigation and serological surveillance of FMD.
