In early 2015，the surveillance and eradication program for goat brucellosis was launched in a county of Hubei province. To determine the herd-level seroprevalence and spatial distribution of goat brucellosis，a cross-sectional study was carried out using two-stage random sampling method towards 1567 goat herds in that county. The combination of rose bengal plate test（RBT）and competitive ELISA（cELISA）were used to test serum samples. Results showed a true herd seroprevalence of goat brucellosis of 2.00% in that county，and the values in various townships ranged from 0 to 11.16%，while a range of 0.67% to 25.58% for those herds with different sizes. Through the study，positive results were obtained in 74 goat herds，which were widely distributed in 10 townships，especially concentrated in 4 townships. In addition，the disease mostly outbreaked in goat herds of which the number was below 50，and its distribution depended on various townships and on different herd sizes. According to these results，an eradication plan should be made to conduct regional management for goat brucellosis，targeted control efforts for goat movement between different seroprevalence areas should also be strengthened.
