In 2015，Lumpy skin disease（LSD）was introduced into Europe for the first time and was spread across Balkan. In order to recognize the situation of LSD，the epidemiology status of LSD in Europe from 2015 to 2016 was analyzed. The results showed that：from the aspects of temporal distribution，LSD spread in Europe followed a clear seasonal pattern，with most outbreaks occurring from June to September. From the aspect of spatial distribution，LSD in Balkan was expanded from southeast to northwest，with most outbreaks occurring at border regions of epidemic countries. From the aspect of herd distribution，the outbreaks of LSD were mainly sporadic and were mostly occurred in small farms. Based on the analysis results，some suggestions on preventing LSD incursion were proposed，such as prohibiting importation of bovine and bovine products from LSD infected countries strictly，strengthening awareness and training，active surveillance and control of vectors，drafting contingency plan or prevention and control technical specification，doing well on LSD technical research reserve and so on.
