In order to preliminarily learn the status of infection with Toxocara in canine in Shihezi City，136 fecal samples of domestic and stray dogs were identified for the size and forms of Toxocara eggs，the number of eggs was counted，and the types，infection rate and intensity were determined，meantime，for the detected eggs，morphological observation of development in vitro was carried out. The results showed that the infection rates of Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonine were 3.68%（5/136）and 8.82%（12/136）respectively，the mixed infection rate was 3.68%（5/136）. All the positive samples were collected from stray dogs，the number of eggs per gram（EPG）of fecal samples could be up to 400；through in vitro culture of Toxascaris leonine eggs，the forms under the stages of one cell，two cells，four cells，morula，gastrula and larva were observed. It was concluded that the infection with Toxocara in canine was effectively controlled in domestic dogs in Shihezi City，but prevalent in stray dogs to some extent，so it was necessary to strengthen monitoring of Toxocara and de-worming in stray dogs. Some epidemiological data were provided by the study for future prevention and control of any zoonotic parasitic diseases in Shihezi City.
