In order to identify the rule of occurrence，development and prevalence of feline infectious peritonitis（FIP）in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in recent years，and to enrich and update relevant epidemiological data，clinical examination information concerning 725 suspected cases of feline coronavirus（FCoV）infection were collected from 73 animal hospitals in the region during 2018 to 2020，followed by molecular biological detection of corresponding effusion，feces and other samples，then the prevalence status of FIP was described in terms of time，region and population distribution and statistically analyzed in combination with clinical information and test results. The results showed that the positive detection rate of FCoV in suspected cases was 75.03%（544/725）in the region，including 308 cases of infectious peritonitis，accounting for 42.5%. Wet clinical symptoms including repeated fever for long term and abdominal cavity or pleural effusion appeared in 298（96.7%）out of 308 confirmed cases infected with FIP；the positive detection rates were 37.4%，40.1%，52.8% and 37.3% respectively in spring，summer，autumn and winter，with difference of statistical significance（χ2=18.051，P＜0.01）；all species of cats could be infected，specifically，the positive detection rates were higher in British Shorthairs（36.0%），Chinese Pastoral Cats（15.9%）and American Shorthairs（26.0%）；36.8% and 45.3% respectively in female cats and male ones，with difference of statistical significance（χ2=4.840，P＜0.05）；and lower in sterilized cats（57 cases）compared to unsterilized ones（251 cases），with significant difference（P＜0.05）；cats at all ages could be infected with FCoV even FIP，the difference of positive detection rate was of statistical significance（P＜0.05），especially the cats at 2 to 12 months ages（54.8%）. It was concluded that FCoV infection and the occurrence of FIP were widely distributed in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region，the occurrence of FIP was closely related to the age，sex，species and sterilization of cats as well as season，mostly occurred in the young and young adult cats，purebred and unsterilized cats as well as the unsterilized male cats，and frequently in the seasons with high temperature including summer and autumn，mainly with wet clinical symptoms. It was recommended to give priority to prevention of FIP，develop corresponding measures according to its characteristics，diagnose and cure any cases as soon as possible.
