In order to verify the efficacy of two common disinfection methods for vehicles(including rolling on disinfection pads and driving through disinfection pools)on African swine fever virus(ASFV),the wheels of vehicles were sprayed by vaccine diluent of pseudorabies virus(PRV)with similar biological, physical and chemical characteristics to test the disinfection effects of the two methods. The results showed that the volume of PRV and epiphytic bacteria decreased and the effect increased with time after vehicles rolled on disinfection pads for 0,1,2,3,4 and 5 min,and driving through disinfection pools for 0,2,5 and 10 min. Specifically, all PRV could not be effectively killed in 5 min after rolling on disinfection pads, with the bacterial killing rate of 92.5%;but all PRV could be effectively killed in 10 min after driving through disinfection pools, with the bacterial killing rate of 98.3%. Data support was thus provided by the paper for improving the emergency response to ASF outbreak and the effectiveness of daily prevention, control and disinfection measures.
