In order to improve global aquatic animal health and welfare，and to achieve sustainable development of aquaculture，the Aquatic Animal Health Strategy（2021—2025）was published by the World Organization for Animal Health（WOAH），in which four areas of aquatic animal health，including standard building，capacity building，resilience and guidance，to be guided and strengthened，were defined. In the paper，the strategic planning of the four areas were introduced，relevant works that might be carried out in China were discussed from the aspects of capacity building，regional cooperation and participation in setting and revisions to standard systems，with a view to providing a reference for aquatic animal health management in China.
