Biosensors, with a new sensing technology integrated by the interdisciplinarity including biology, electrochemistry, optics and information science, etc.,are characterized by the advantages of low cost, simple operation, high accuracy, strong specificity, etc.,and have been widely used in the fields of biomedicine, food industry, environmental monitoring, etc.,especially offer a rapid and effective tool for animal disease detection. Biosensors currently include enzyme biosensors, immune biosensors, microbial sensors, cell biosensors and DNA biosensors, each of which has its own advantages, disadvantages and adaptability. In recent years, the application of biosensors in detection of animal diseases has gradually become a hot research topic, most of which focus on avian influenza(AI),porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS),African swine fever(ASF)and other viral diseases, salmonellosis, swine streptococcosis and other bacterial diseases,as well as parasitic diseases such as hemophagosis and toxoplasmosis. Future combination of biosensors with emerging disciplines or new materials would further improve its efficiency, practicality and applicability of detection.
