In order to investigate the status of biosafety disposal of dead livestock and poultry in Tieling City, the data about marketing, biosafety disposal and insurance of live pigs, cattle and sheep from 2015 to 2020 in the city was summarized and then analyzed based on the findings from field visit and investigation on the construction of biosafety disposal system and shortages. It was found that the biosafety disposal rate and the number of insured pigs from 2018 to 2020 were greatly higher than those from 2015 to 2017(P<0.05);during the process, insurance claims were applied as the main method for live pigs, and a low level of biosafety disposal rate for cattle and sheep was found;and such shortages as unbalanced implementation of subsidies and insurance policies, inefficient operation of collection and transfer systems, and poor operation of regulatory systems and mechanisms were available. Therefore, relevant recommendations were put forward to optimize the subsidies and insurance policies for the industry, improve the efficiency of collection and transfer systems of dead livestock and poultry, and to straighten out relevant regulatory mechanisms, etc.
