Specialized animal markets are key premises that shall be concerned during disease prevention and control in animal movement. How to carry out animal quarantine in the markets is important for disease control，reducing or blocking any risk of disease transmission via the movement of live livestock and poultry，and for safeguarding public health safety and human health. In the paper，according to the latest version of Animal Quarantine Management Measures，2022，four conditions required by issuance of animal quarantine to those with quarantine certificate of origin were introduced. Based on six conditions to be reached by farms/households for their quarantine of origin，relevant requirements for issuance of such certificate to the markets were summarized and analyzed. Based on the practice across Yunnan Province，the procedures for issuance of quarantine certificates in the markets were discussed，followed by development of relevant flow charts，with a view to providing a reference for issuance of quarantine certificates in such specialized animal markets in other regions.
