In order to investigate the detection capacity of veterinary laboratories for African swine fever virus(ASFV),veterinary laboratories at prefecture and county levels as well as 116 enterprises for pig slaughtering were annually organized by Zhejiang Province to take the proficiency test for ASFV from 2019 to 2021. The results showed that the accuracy rates of samples were 100%,98.78% and 98.90%,respectively in the three years, those of laboratories were 100%,94.55% and 96.00%,respectively. For 2019,sample conformity rate of slaughtering enterprises was 83.45%,and that of the veterinary laboratories was higher, but should be improved in some laboratories at county/district level. Some shortages were also found, such as poor capacity of mini laboratories of slaughtering enterprises, lack of biosafety facilities and biosafety awareness, etc.,indicating that the laboratories should improve their level of standardized management as well as their staff's skills.
