摘要:Two tick-free and blood protozan-free buffalo calves purchased from non-endemic area were splenectomized and fifteen days later infected with Rhipicephalus haemaphysaloides collected from buffaloes in endemic area .The concentration of calcium and magnesium in serum was determined periodically.The results showed that there is a positive correlation between percentage of parasitized erythrocytes (PPE) and the concentration of calcium whereas a negative correlation between PPE and the concentration of magnesium.These findings would be important for further study on babesiosis of buffaloes and in vitro cultivation of Babesia bovis
